FIREFIGHTER/MEDIC

FIREFIGHTER/EMT

PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME

The County of Warren is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to form an eligibility list and fill current part-time and full-time vacancies in its Fire and Rescue Department. The starting hourly rate for part-time Firefighter/EMT is $13.45, and the starting hourly rate for part-time Firefighter/Medic is $14.84, DOQ respectively.  The starting annual base salary for full-time Firefighter/EMT is $36,747.51 and the starting annual base salary for full-time Firefighter/Medic is $40,562.37, DOQ respectively.  Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have a valid Virginia driver’s license and must be insurable. Minimum requirements for Firefighter/EMT include certification as a Virginia Firefighter I with Firefighter II preferred, Hazardous Materials Operations, EVOC, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, and CPR. Additional requirements for Firefighter/Medic include Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate or higher, ACLS preferred.  Candidates must successfully complete the standard Department of Fire and Rescue Services Candidate Physical Agility Test and Written Examination.  Testing scheduled for June 28, 2017.  A post offer background check, criminal history, driving record, physical and drug screening are required.

Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Coordinator – Part-time

$14.86 per hour

 

The Warren County Department of Fire and Rescue Services is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual who will be responsible for the development and supervision of the recruitment and retention program(s) and services for volunteer personnel. The position is responsible for developing, planning, leading, and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment and retention program that will attract and retain volunteer staff to serve in the roles of community firefighters, emergency medical technicians and support personnel of the Departments volunteer fire and rescue stations.

This part-time position will work a varied schedule to include; weekdays, evenings and occasional weekends up to 15 hours per week in a program dedicated to increasing the number of trained, "front line" firefighters, EMT’s and support personnel available in their communities.

Successful candidate must be 18 years of age, have a valid Virginia driver’s license and must be insurable.  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to the graduation of high school and moderate experience in the recruitment of volunteer personnel and fire and rescue services is required.  Candidates must successfully complete a post offer background check, criminal history, driving record and drug screening process.
